The first stop of the Char Dham yatra is the holy dwelling of Goddess Yamuna the daughter of the God Sun. Yamunotri ji surrounded by the beautiful Glaciers which give you the dazzles to your eyes. According to the Hindu Mythology Goddess Yamuna is considered to be the sister of Yamaraj ( The God Of Death), and therefore a holy dip in the pious water pond here relieves the devotees from a painful death. The place is also known for its beautiful surroundings, glaciers and hot water springs including the Surya Kund, Gauri Kund and Saptarishi Kund. Yamunotri ji would be a perfect place for those who is fond of escapades, Peace, Calm and scenic beauty of natural environment.
As you arrive at Haridwar/Rishikesh meet the Driver for assistance, and proceed straightaway to Barkot.
Enroute visit the beautiful picturesque. Upon your arrival in Barkot check inn to the pre booked hotel. Enjoy the dinner & Stay Overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast depart for Yamunotri ji via track from Jankichatti through lush green Valley and several species of Himalayan Shrubs. Yamunotri ji is the source of the river Yamuna, the twin sister of Varna, the Lord of Death. Yamuna is also the daughter of Surya the Sun. The actual source of the river originates from Champasar Glacier 1 km a head of the shrine, at an altitude of 4,321 mts. On arrival by afternoon in Yamunotri ji take holy dip in Yamuna River and perform Pooja, and take the same route back to Barkot, check in at Hotel / Camp. Dinner and Overnight stay at hotel in Barkot.
Begin early morning with breakfast and drive downhill to Rishikesh, one of the most important spiritual cities and the Yoga capital of the world. Explore the wonderful town with its charming locations. Visit fascinating temples, spiritual sites and Ghats. Have the experience of treading on the famous Ram Jhula and Laxman Jhula. Towards evening, drive towards Haridwar/ Rishikesh and drop at Haridwar Railway Station.
